How to Build Balanced Five-a-Side Teams
The most common complaint before a kickabout is "we're stacked again." Unbalanced sides ruin the game and drain motivation. Fair teams aren't luck — they follow a few simple rules.
1. Why position balance matters
Even in five-a-side you need a goalkeeper, defenders/midfielders, and forwards on each team. Team Generator assigns roles and splits players so both sides get a similar shape.
2. Skill ratings (1–10)
Rate honestly for today's form, not FIFA stats. The app balances total skill across teams automatically.
3. Squad size
For 14 players, teams of 7 work well. Adjust manually for odd numbers or joker players.
